I read Siddhartha right after Jung.

Jung asks: who am I under the identities.

Hesse asks the next question: once you know you cannot inherit someone else’s path, how do you actually live your own.

Siddhartha goes through every teacher (Brahmins, Samanas, the Buddha, the merchant life) and lands on something simple and hard. Knowledge can be taught. Wisdom has to be lived.

I recognized that. I followed shamans. I found answers. I still have to live my own path. Same for a company. You can study someone else’s map. You cannot copy their wisdom into your product.
