Jim DeKorne's shamanic map is simple.

Higher worlds. Lower worlds. Middle world — the one you live in when you are not journeying.

You don't enter them by looking at the sky. You enter through a center inside yourself. A vertical axis. Worlds inside worlds, like a matryoshka doll.

I keep forgetting that when I build. I look sideways for the next move. The map that matters runs up and down from the inside.
