In this clip I’m in The Almanack of Naval Ravikant on specific knowledge.
Naval: specific knowledge is found by pursuing your genuine curiosity and passion — not whatever is hot right now. Hot markets pull people into other people’s games. Curiosity pulls you into the one only you can play for a long time.
Founder translation: AI is hot. That doesn’t mean your company should be an AI costume. Alan’s point in the clip is he sold himself short for years — interested in startups and coding, but waiting on developers instead of building. The eyes lighting up at the IDE is the signal. Follow that, then ship a product from it.
Pursue curiosity. Don’t chase what’s hot.
